Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results. Andrew Carnegie |
Team DevelopmentAt Ascend we use highly accurate profiling assessments as a starting point to better understand the team dynamic, where potential conflicts lie and where there is potential to unlock. We find out how emotionally intelligent each member of the team is, HOW they think and what their behaviours, motivations, competencies and values are. This will give your team an amazing starting point to either work internally to bring about the desired change or for us to put together some bespoke training either on a 1;1 or group basis.
A team in our experience can go one of two ways, they can be a dysfunctional, uncommunicative group of individuals who are focused on themselves, to achieve their own personal goals and targets, or they can be a powerful, unified, motivated group of individuals who communicate well, support each other and achieve goals and targets as a group. The bi-product of which is achieving their personal goals and targets along the way. A strong team can be pulled apart by a new addition who, either doesn't fit, or is too self-centred, this may be through adding a new recruit or an internal promotion or department transfer. In the worst case scenario this may also trigger others to leave the organisation taking all their valuable knowledge and skills with them. Likewise through training, better understanding of each other, improved communication and motivation a dysfunctional team can transform itself into a force to be reckoned with. We have found that once people are in a positive mindset about work, and themselves, that not only will you get more out of them but they will get more out of any additional training that you put them through. So often we hear people saying that they have put on a training course but that the delegates weren't in the right mindset to really get value out of the training or implement it in their day to day activities.
